by On June 15, 2018, a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter crew rescued five people from a disabled vessel near Humbug Mountain, Oregon. The helicopter crew was dispatched from Sector North Bend at approximately 10:30 p.m. after being notified by the National Weather Service of a disabled vessel with five people aboard in need of assistance.
The helicopter crew arrived on scene at approximately 11:00 p.m. and found the vessel disabled and adrift in rough seas with five people aboard. The helicopter crew deployed a rescue swimmer who determined that all five people were in good health and required further medical attention. The helicopter crew then hoisted all five people aboard the helicopter and transported them to Sector North Bend where they were met by paramedics and taken to a local hospital for further evaluation.
